Curriculum Instruction PDF Print E-mail

MCRSD provides students with a standards-based, rigorous curriculum to prepare them for success on state and national assessments, along with the essential skills needed to achieve excellence in life. The curriculum for each grade level is based entirely on the Arizona K-12 Content Standards as the foundation for teachers to use textbooks, technology, and otherImage materials to build rich learning experiences. Each building level administrator will lead the curriculum relying on direct support from the Superintendent for Curriculum.

The MCRSD philosophy is to continuously assess students throughout the year so teachers can tailor their instructions to the specific strengths and weaknesses of their students

SRA Reading

Our at risk students are generally short term, and enter the program with a wide range of abilities. The SRA Reading Labs helps to meet each student's individual needs as well as providing pre-emergent levels for our English language learner population. We are limited in the amount of time we are able to spend with our students, so the SRA Reading Labs is an invaluable resource.

M2W/Cape Life Skills

The Merging Two Worlds Curriculum is designed to help students prepare for reintegration into the community, school or world of work upon release from a secure care environment. It is based on the concept that resiliency, the ability to come back from and successfully adapt to adversity, is critical to a student's successful reintegration into the community.

A+ Learning System

A+LS courseware delivers research based instructional software to all students. The courseware provides not only content in the core curriculum areas, but also assessment tools to determine skill levels of remedial through advanced students. The A+ Anywhere GED preparation program prepares students to take and pass the General Education Diploma examination.

Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone is used by English Language Learners and can be used to complement classroom teaching or to allow students to work independently, building their basic speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing skills. Rosetta Stone advances students to the next level only when they achieve a level of proficiency defined by the teacher.
